San Francisco became his home in 1997. Having been introduced to motion picture photography in University, Robert soon began working with filmmakers as a Cinematographer. He had come to see Cinematography as an extension of his painting. For the next five years he pursued a film making career shooting documentaries, short films, commercials and one feature. In 2002, frustrated with creative limitations of commercial film making, Robert shifted his focus back to painting. In May 2003 his first solo show sold out, launching his professional career as a painter. Robert now lives on Potrero Hill in San Francisco and works from his studio in the heart of the Mission District. |
